South of downtown, the Golden Triangle concentrates the Denver Art Museum (DAM), Clyfford Still Museum, Kirkland Institute within DAM, History Colorado Center, Denver Public Library's central branch, and Civic Center Park. It is the right daytime cluster for architecture, exhibitions, and civic history. Museum hours and closures vary, so pick the primary institution before building the walking route.
Capitol Hill begins to the east with the Colorado State Capitol, historic apartment buildings, mansions, music rooms, bars, coffee, and the layered Colfax Avenue edge. It carries more everyday city life than the museum campus. The Molly Brown House Museum offers a focused historic stop, while Cheesman Park and the Botanic Gardens extend the route farther east.
These areas combine well because the civic core supplies museums and architecture while Capitol Hill adds restaurants, bars, and historic streets. They are less natural as a pair with a full RiNo night and a Cherry Creek dinner. If time is short, choose one museum, walk Civic Center and the capitol exterior, then eat in Capitol Hill or return to the hotel district.
